Eco Fun: Making a Notebook

  • Usually, we all have many loose papers lying around the house. These are different shapes, sizes, and colors. We can gather them and help the kids make a notebook for their drawings or for other activities. This way, the paper gets one more use before recycling.

  • To complement this activity, you can use our free coloring worksheets to learn more about recycling and cleaning our planet.

  • Ask the children to make a notebook at home and to bring it to school. Compare the size, shape, and color of the notebooks. Ask the kids to draw pictures of Ge, Tricky and Oinky.

  • Materials: Any loose papers, different shapes, sizes, colors; Scissors; Hole punch; Twine; Paints and brushes

And Now What?

  • Gather all the loose papers.

  • According to each kid's wishes, the parent should either cut the paper in one single size or leave the paper at different sizes creating a messy, irregular notebook with papers of different sizes.

  • Have the kids organize the papers in one stock. They can order them as they please.

  • Punch holes into the paper on one side.

  • Tie knots with the twine through each hole to make a notebook. Don’t make it too tight, so they can easily flip the pages.

  • Let the kids decorate the first page. Help them write down their name.

  • In the coloring worksheets, they can find all the Green Rank eco-heroes. Ask the kids to draw all three characters Ge, Tricky and Oinky,  in their new notebook.
