Eco Fun: Learning about Native Trees

  • Trees are vital to our survival on the planet, as they help us filter the air, releasing the oxygen we breathe.

  • Native plants are best suited for each area, as they are used to all the local conditions.

  • They can withstand the weather conditions, the temperatures, levels of rain and sun and are resistant to local insects, or pests.

  • Native trees will always use local resources in the best way. They should not need extra watering or care.

  • Materials you will need:

  • Cards with images of native trees. Pictures of the whole tree, its leaves, flowers, and fruit.

  • If you can find them, bring real leaves, flowers or fruits

  • Optional: look for short videos of native trees from your area

  • Drawing utensils
